After Valtteri Bottas, Formula 1 racing team Alfa Romeo has also signed Guanyu Zhou to a longer contract.
The cockpits at Alfa Romeo have been filled: The Chinese Guanyu Zhou will also drive for the racing team based in Hinwil, Switzerland, next season. Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas (33) had already signed a long-term contract when he joined the team, and on Tuesday Guanyu Zhou was signed until 2023.
Zhou, the first Chinese driver in Formula 1, made his debut in the premier class this year and has already finished in the points three times.
Adapting quickly to the premier class
“I am happy to continue working with him. We knew he was fast – but the way he adapted to Formula One in such a short time was one of the biggest surprises of this season,” team boss Frédéric Vasseur said of the 23-year-old.
