The first WWE German show in several years comes to a whimsical end in Leipzig – at Sami Zayn’s expense.

For the first time since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, German fans could see WWE’s stars live in action again – and the wrestling league offered them a turbulent finale.

In the main match of the show in Leipzig on Sunday, Drew McIntyre defeated Bobby Lashley in a duel between two former WWE champions, followed by an acclaimed encore involving numerous other stars.

Sami Zayn takes a beating

McIntyre and Lashley teamed up after the match when Sami Zayn – previously defeated by Austria star Gunther – joined in and got into it with them.

Other male and female crowd favourites – Shinsuke Nakamura, Riddle, Ricochet, Sasha Banks, Naomi – also got into the mix and prevented Zayn from escaping.

After Zayn took the special manoeuvres from both Lashley and McIntyre, they all posed together in good humour over the knocked-out Canadian.

The first German show since 2019 was clearly fun for all involved, with several stars sending thank-you messages to the audience in German via social media afterwards.
