Shooting the last laps of his Formula 1 career with Sebastian Vettel? The four-time world champion has invited fans to a special a(u)ction.
Vettel is auctioning off photo spots on his racing helmet for his last Grand Prix on 20 November in Abu Dhabi. “I want you to be there and be part of it when I drive my last laps,” the 35-year-old Aston Martin driver wrote in an Instagram post.
Fans have to register on the site www.final-lap.de, place a bid and upload a photo of themselves. The highest bidders will get a spot on Vettel’s racing helmet. “100 percent of the proceeds will go to a good cause and a project close to my heart,” he assured.
After 15 years, it’s over
For some years now, the Hessian has been increasingly committed to human rights and nature conservation. 15 years after his Formula 1 debut, he will end his career in motorsport’s top class at the end of this season. After the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend, Abu Dhabi will be Vettel’s last race.
