Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda will continue to drive for the Alpha Tauri racing team in the coming season.

The team confirmed on Thursday that it will continue to work with the 22-year-old Japanese driver, who has been competing for Red Bull’s sister team since last year. Team boss Franz Tost attested to Tsunoda’s strong development, although the young driver had again attracted attention with some impetuous actions recently. With eleven points, Tsunoda is in 16th place in the overall standings after 16 races.

It is still open whether Frenchman Pierre Gasly will continue to drive as a regular driver for Alpha Tauri. The 26-year-old is being linked to a move to Alpine as Fernando Alonso’s successor.
