Italy’s Martina Trevisan beat Aliaxandra Sasnovich in two sets. She has reached the last eight of the French Open for the second time in her career.

After 2020, the unseeded Trevisan reached the quarter-finals again at the French Open. The 28-year-old beat Aliaxandra Sasnovich (Belarus) 7-6 (12-10), 7-5 after more than 1:59 hours on Sunday. Sasnovich had defeated three-time Grand Slam winner Angelique Kerber in the third round.

In her next match, Trevisan will face US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez (Canada). Fernandez won her round of 16 match against Amanda Anisimova of the USA (6:3, 4:6, 6:3). The 18-year-old Coco Gauff (USA) will meet Sloane Stephens after beating Elise Mertens of Belgium 6-4, 6-0. Stephens knocked out Jil Teichmann (Switzerland) 6-2, 6-0.
