29 of the 32 participants in the World Cup in Qatar have been determined. On Friday, the German team will find out who they will meet in the preliminary round.
National coach Hansi Flick and the German national team will find out their opponents for the World Cup in Qatar on Friday. Starting at 6pm German time at the Exhibition and Convention Centre in Doha, the eight groups for the Winter World Cup, which will take place from 21 November to 18 December 2022, will be drawn. The 32 teams are divided into 4 lottery pots. The German team will be in lottery pot 2.
So far, 29 of 32 participants have been determined. The final qualifying matches are not scheduled until June. Thus, the intercontinental play-offs with the duels of representatives from Asia and South America as well as Oceania and Concacaf will not be played until 13 and 14 June in Qatar.
The last European ticket via the play-offs is also still up for grabs. Ukraine’s semi-final against Scotland had been postponed from March to June due to Russia’s war of aggression, and Wales have already been confirmed as their opponents in the final.
