Jan-Lennard Struff has made it to the next round in Sofia. The German lost the first set against Dusan Lajovic, but then turned the match around and is through to the last 16.

Jan-Lennard Struff has taken the momentum from the Davis Cup with him and reached the round of 16 at the tournament in Sofia. The 32-year-old from Warstein won his first-round match against Serb Dusan Lajovic 4:6, 6:3, 6:2 on Wednesday.

In the round of 16, Struff, who had fought his way into the main draw via the qualifying rounds, will now face Frenchman Ugo Humbert.

Struff won all three of his singles matches at the Davis Cup in Hamburg in mid-September. Before that, he had suffered many defeats this year and is currently only 133rd in the world rankings.
