An incredibly exciting season finale is in the offing in Serie A. The Italian press is thrilled.

The Italian championship title will be decided in a Scudetto derby between Milan’s prestigious clubs AC and defending champions Inter. Both clubs celebrated victories on Sunday, so the neck-and-neck race continued. Milan’s lead over their rivals is two points.

“Last-minute goal for Milan, the Rossoneri are one step away from the Scudetto. One of the many lessons Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli has taught his young team over the past two and a half years is to fight to the end, regardless of the result. He has instilled in his boys that no game should be given up until the final whistle,” commented the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan beat Fiorentina 1-0 (0-0) on Sunday thanks to a late goal from Rafael Leao (82nd) and successfully defended their lead at the top of the table with three rounds to go. Inter won 2:1 (2:0) at Udinese Calcio.

Coaches delighted with Milan teams

“Milan don’t lose their heads and manage to win in the last minute. Inter Milan respond with a win, the Scudetto derby could not be more exciting in this last phase,” analysed Tuttosport.

Satisfied, the coaches said. “This team is a perfect assembly line. Also today my boys were great, we all worked together with the right mentality and always believed in victory despite the pressure,” AC coach Stefano Pioli emphasised his team’s performance.

Inters coach Filippo Inzaghi is also dreaming of a second Scudetto in a row. “With this victory we have shown character and personality. The boys played with concentration and I would like to thank our fans who supported us from start to finish,” Inzaghi said.
