In the coming season, no Russian clubs will be allowed to participate in the Basketball EuroLeague because of the Ukraine war. The EuroCup is also affected.

Due to the war in Ukraine, no Russian clubs will be allowed to participate in the EuroLeague next season.

The premier league announced this after a board meeting on Thursday and published a provisional list of participants.

Bayer Munich and Alba Berlin in

Bundesliga team Bayern Munich is automatically included as an A-licence holder, German champion Alba Berlin is also among the 18 teams considered.

The rule also applies to the EuroCup, the German participants are Hamburg Towers and ratiopharm Ulm.

After the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian clubs had been excluded from the EuroLeague in the past season.

The measure affected ZSKA Moscow with the German national player Johannes Voigtmann, UNICS Kazan and Zenit St. Petersburg.
