The Roman prefecture has banned the sale of tickets to Dutch fans for the Europa League match between Lazio against Feyenoord.
The decision was taken to “protect the city from possible unrest”, it said on Thursday. The match will take place on 8 September at the Olympic Stadium.
Feyenoord fans are known for serious public order disturbances at away matches.
In 2015, the Dutch team’s ultras damaged a historic fountain in front of the Spanish Steps shortly before the match against AS Roma. Parts of the Lazio fan scene are also considered problematic.
