Change of lead in the World Rally Championship in Sardinia: After the accident of the previous leader Esapekka Lappi (Finland/Toyota), who lost control of his vehicle in the tenth special stage and irreparably damaged the suspension, Hyundai driver Ott Tänak (Estonia) is now in the lead.

Second is Craig Breen (Ireland/Ford), 21 seconds behind, with Dani Sordo in third place.

Lappi had taken over the car from world champion Sebastien Ogier (France) at the fifth WRC round of the season as planned, who is only driving a few selected rallies this year at his own request. At the next WRC round in Kenya at the end of June, Ogier will be back at the wheel.
