Neymar has once again attracted all the attention at PSG. In an interview with Canal+, he caused a stir with a statement.
This confession does not sound very convincing.
The Brazilian superstar has more or less declared his allegiance to his club Paris Saint Germain in an interview with Canal+. “I have a contract with PSG, so I have no other choice,” the 30-year-old offensive player confessed.
Only recently, various French media still reported that the club’s management is trying to get rid of Neymar. Even his PSG colleague Kylian Mbappé would not object to his departure.
The Frenchman recently extended his contract until 2025 for an annual salary of around 50 million euros. He also has a say in player transfers. In order to finance the record deal, Paris is said to be willing to let Neymar leave if a good offer is made.
Does Neymar earn too much?
The sticking point for a transfer could be the astronomical salary of the Brazilian international. He earns almost 37 million euros at the French capital club. Hardly any club will be able to afford the striker’s salary and transfer fee.
He currently has a market value of 90 million euros and a contract until 2025.
Neymar moved to the French capital from FC Barcelona in 2017 for a record fee of 2022, but the big successes failed to materialise. Although he was French champion four times and cup winner twice with PSG, the big goal of the Champions League title could not be achieved.
