Czech Marie Bouzkova won her home tournament in Prague and her first singles title on the WTA Tour.
The 24-year-old, most recently a quarter-finalist at Wimbledon, beat Russia’s Anastasia Potapova 6-0, 6-3 in the final.
It was Bouzkova’s first success in her fourth final, she had only triumphed three times in doubles on the WTA Tour. Before Wimbledon, the Czech had never reached a Grand Slam quarter-final. At the All England Club, Bouzkova was defeated by the eventual finalist Ons Jabeur (Tunisia).
