In the debate about Porsche’s entry into Formula 1, according to the new head of the VW Group, Oliver Blume, “no final decision has been made yet”.

“Basically, we welcome the new regulations, which allow a significantly higher electrification of the engines and the use of synthetic fuels,” Blume told the “Braunschweiger Zeitung” (Thursday) in an interview.

The successor to Herbert Diess referred to Audi’s entry into Formula 1 from 2026. “Porsche is in talks, but we have not yet made a final decision,” said Blume, who will also remain head of the Porsche sports car brand, which is part of the VW Group.

Volkswagen subsidiary Audi announced a week ago its entry into motorsport’s premier class under the new engine regulations. Porsche reportedly wants to work with Red Bull.
