Record-breaking Rafael Nadal crowned the tennis evening in Paris on Wednesday evening with an outright victory.

Rafael Nadal followed title rivals Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz into the third round at the French Open. The 13-time Paris winner easily beat Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 on Wednesday night. The Spaniard will face Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp on Friday.

Djokovic also had no trouble in his 6-2, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win over Alex Molcan of Slovakia. The world number one from Serbia will now face Aljaz Bedene from Slovenia.

Nadal’s compatriot Alcaraz, on the other hand, had to fight hard against Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-1, 6-7 (7-9), 5-7, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. In the fourth set, the tennis prodigy even had a match point against him, but in the end he prevailed after 4:34 hours. Alcaraz will now play the US-American Sebastian Korda.
