U21 national coach Antonio Di Salvo puts the brakes on expectations for Borussia Dortmund’s top talent Youssoufa Moukoko.
“He is still a young player who has a lot to learn. He will only be 18 now in November. You can’t forget that,” Di Salvo said ahead of Friday’s (6.15 pm) international against France. Moukoko needs time to “continue to mature”.
The striker of the Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund had recently scored the winning goal in the derby against Schalke 04 after his substitution.
“There are phases when he doesn’t play. That’s quite normal in Dortmund,” said Di Salvo: “He has to try to get more and more playing time there. He has the confidence from Edin Terzic, he also has the confidence with us.” Moukoko has already scored six goals in four games for the German U21s.
