A drug find in his car could cost professional basketball player Montrezl Harrell of the NBA club Charlotte Hornets dearly.
During a traffic stop, police seized more than a kilo of vacuum-packed marijuana and Harrell faces a sentence of up to five years in prison.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Harrell was stopped in Richmond/Kentucky for tailgating another car.
An officer smelled marijuana and then searched the car, finding it in a backpack in the back seat. Harrell is due in court for a hearing on 13 July. The 28-year-old’s contract with the Hornets expires this summer.
