The end of the failed adventure with Chelsea FC is apparently imminent: after a change of plans, everything could happen very quickly in the personnel matter of Romelu Lukaku.

Romelu Lukaku’s return to former club Inter Milan is apparently imminent. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 29-year-old will return to Italy on loan.

The transfer has apparently become much more concrete in recent days. A meeting with Chelsea FC scheduled for Monday is said to have been brought forward to Sunday. Inter president Steven Zhang has already agreed to the deal, according to the report.

The loan fee is said to be 10 million euros plus bonuses. Last summer, the Blues paid a whopping 113 million euros for the brawny striker.

At Stamford Bridge, Lukaku, who was already a Chelsea player between 2011 and 2014, could not fulfil the high expectations. The Belgian scored only eight goals in the Premier League last season.

With this transfer, Inter would take a big step towards their dream forward line with Lautaro Martínez and Paulo Dybala. In the case of the latter, it is already clear that he will leave Juventus Turin.
