A buzzer-beater cost the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg a place in the round of the best 16 teams in the Champions League.

The baroque city gave away a 36:16 lead after the first quarter against Limoges CSP on Wednesday evening and lost to the French club 94:96 (51:39) after overtime.

As a result, the visitors prevailed 2-1 in the best-of-three series. The Ludwigsburg team had won the first duel in the MHP Arena (85:81) but then lost clearly in France (62:82).

Bryce Jones scored the decisive try in overtime with a fadeaway from half distance as the clock expired. Jones was also the best scorer of the game with 26 points. Prentiss Hubb was the best scorer for Ludwigsburg with 24 points.

This means that only Telekom Baskets Bonn is still in the Champions League from a German perspective.
