Star football coach Jürgen Klopp is committed to supporting former athletes with Deutsche Sporthilfe.

Starting coach Jürgen Klopp is committed to supporting former athletes with Deutsche Sporthilfe.

The “Sporthilfe Matchplan” is being implemented with the support of the Liverpool FC team manager, the Common Goal initiative and the projekt b agency.

The athletes are to be supported after the end of their active career with the help of individual coaching and workshops to “identify their skills, passions as well as future goals and apply them according to their potential”.

Klopp wants to give back

“I’ve been damn lucky in my life, partly because I had the right people by my side at the right time. Now, together with Deutsche Sporthilfe, Common Goal and projekt b, I want to pass some of that on,” said Klopp.

Karin Orgeldinger, who is responsible for athlete support on the board of Deutsche Sporthilfe, added: “It is our aim not to let the support end with the end of the sporting career, but to continue to stand by our athletes’ side as a ‘lifetime companion’.”
