Thilo Kehrer was recently discarded by Paris Saint-Germain. What’s next for the international?

Thilo Kehrer is not having an easy time of it at the moment.

Just like his DFB colleague Julian Draxle, the international was sorted out of the Paris Saint-Germain team training a few days ago and is currently keeping fit in a kind of “training group 2”.

The Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportivo now reports that Sevilla FC have already received a verbal commitment from the German international. According to the report, the Andalusians are optimistic that the transfer will be completed in the near future.

Sevilla FC are interested in Thilo Kehrer

It is true that Sevilla have Kehrer on their list, but there have been no loose talks or even negotiations so far.

The 25-year-old defensive star is currently thinking about his future after the change of coach from Mauricio Pochettino to Christophe Galtier (came from Nice), the addition of right-back Nordi Mukiele (came from Leipzig) and the resulting dissatisfied situation.

Under Pochettino, the versatile ex-Schalker made 34 competitive appearances last season. The prospects of a similar number of games are not so good at the moment after the change of coach. According to the Spanish media, the desire for match practice with a view to the World Cup in Qatar is the top priority.

Kehrer, who is highly rated by national coach Hansi Flick, only has a contract with Paris St. Germain until next summer. At FC Sevilla, the native of Tübingen could fill the gap left by Jules Koundé after his 50-million-euro move to FC Barcelona.
