Tottenham Hotspur celebrates a spectacular victory against Leicester City. The previously criticized Heung-min Son scores a hat-trick and shows it to his coach Antonio Conte.

Ex-Bundesliga star Heung-min Son has countered his coach Antonio Conte’s announcement in spectacular fashion.

The 30-year-old scored a hat-trick in the shortest time in Tottenham Hotspur’s 6-2 win over Leicester City to complete the Londoners’ victory.

Son first scored the 4:2 (73.) after his substitution in the 59th minute, followed by the 5:2 (84.) and 6:2 (87.). Youri Tielemans had given Leicester the lead (6th). Harry Kane (8th) and Eric Dier (21st) turned the game around for Tottenham before James Maddison equalized again (41st).

Rodrigo Bentancur scored in the second half to make it 3-2 (47th), then the Son train rolled over Leicester.

Only a few days ago, Conte had made a clear statement in the direction of his offensive star and also put Son under pressure, who had not always been in the starting eleven recently.

“If you want to build something ambitious, you have to change old habits, otherwise you stagnate,” Conte said on Tuesday ahead of the Champions League defeat at Sporting Lisbon. “For this reason, all the players have to accept the rotation, especially in attack, we have four players there.”

Son’s fabulous performance sees him rise to become the first player in Tottenham history to score a hat-trick after coming on as a substitute. Overall, the South Korean is the second in Premier League history since Steven Naismith in September 2015.
