Simona Halep has got herself a new coach. With Patrick Mouratoglou, a top-class name is joining her team.
Former world number one Simona Halep will be working with star coach Patrick Mouratoglou in future. Both announced this on social media.
“I’m looking forward to the new chapter. Let’s get to work,” wrote the 30-year-old, who has won two Grand Slam titles so far.
The 51-year-old Frenchman Mouratoglou is also the coach of 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams (40). After a conversation with the US-American, who has been injured for months, “at least in the short term” a door had “opened” for him to work with someone else, Mouratoglou announced.
Williams suffered a thigh injury at Wimbledon last year and has not played a match since.
