Formula 1 and the organisers of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne have agreed to extend their cooperation by ten years.

This was announced by the motorsport series on Thursday. The new contract will run up to and including 2035. What is new is that Formula 2 and Formula 3 will also be making stops from the coming season. So far, the races were fixed until 2025.

Since 1996, there have been 25 Formula 1 races at Albert Park, but due to the Corona pandemic, no Grand Prix took place in Australia in 2020 and 2021. According to official figures, the return in April attracted 419,000 spectators over the three days of the race weekend. There is no date yet for the 2023 race.
