For a long time there was speculation about whether the Swede would also be a Rossoneri player in the coming season. Now Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a decision.

The Swedish veteran star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has agreed with AC Milan on a contract extension for another year. The new contract runs until 30 June 2023, the Lombards announced on their homepage.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the 40-year-old will make financial sacrifices in return, with his salary to be reduced to 1.5 million euros plus bonuses. His appearances and goals are to be rewarded extra.

Due to his knee operation at the end of May, Ibrahimovic is expected to miss seven months. Most recently, the striker, who returned to Milan in January 2020, was reported to have earned seven million euros. The veteran will turn 41 on 3 October.
