Frankfurt am Main – In the run-up to the semi-final second leg of the Europa League between Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham United, clashes broke out. According to the Frankfurt police, about 15 to 20 masked persons attacked English fans in a pub in the Bockenheim district on Wednesday night.
According to witnesses, the attackers belonged to the Eintracht fan camp. One British man was taken to hospital with minor injuries. On Tuesday, two Britons had already been attacked by a group of young men in the nightlife district of Sachsenhausen.
According to the police, there will be a “large number of police” present throughout the city for the match on Thursday (9 p.m.). There had already been clashes between the fan camps during the first leg and around the round of 16 finals of both teams in Seville.
