Police had their hands full before the Europa League second leg between Eintracht Frankfurt and England’s West Ham United.

Frankfurt am Main – Police had their hands full ahead of Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg between Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt and English Premier League club West Ham United. A few hours before kick-off, officials reported the arrest of over 30 rowdy fans from both camps.

They had to “intervene at several locations because violent supporters of both clubs were fighting or trying to fight”.

In Frankfurt, 5000 supporters from England are expected, including so-called “risk fans”. Eintracht won the first leg 2:1.
