Croatia wins against France in the Nations League. In the away win, a Bayern talent is convincing and takes Kylian Mbappé out of the game.
That was a real exclamation mark!
Bayern talent Josip Stanisic played with the Croatian national team against world champions France on Monday evening.
In the 1-0 away win in the Nations League, the 22-year-old impressed as a right-back. He took Kylian Mbappé out of the game.
Stanisic produced impressive match statistics. He delivered 35 of his 38 passes (92 per cent) to his team-mates and won all eight duels.
Stanisic only a reserve at Bayern
In addition, he had six tackles and two ball wins and blocked just as many shots. He was not even dribbled out. Mbappé, who was supposed to create danger on the left wing, was completely sidelined thanks to the Bayern player.
With this strong performance Stanisic contributed to the Croatians winning 1:0. Captain Luka Modric scored the goal of the day in the fifth minute from the penalty spot.
In the past Bundesliga season, the right-back made 13 appearances for Bayern and only played the full distance twice.
During the current substitution period, the Croatian first played two games for the U21s before playing 45 minutes against Denmark last week and now 90 minutes in France on Monday. It was his fifth international match for the senior national team.
