The Champions League is over, FC Bayern München now has to cope with everyday life in the Bundesliga. Two French stars are likely to be absent against Arminia Bielefeld.
Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann will most likely have to do without Lucas Hernandez and Kingsley Coman for Sunday’s (3.30pm) away match at Arminia Bielefeld.
Nagelsmann said at the PK on Friday that the two Frenchmen had complained of muscular problems after the quarter-final exit in the Champions League against FC Villarreal. He does not expect either of them to fly to Bielefeld. We will decide on Saturday”.
Niklas Süle and Corentin Tolisso are also missing due to the effects of flu and a torn muscle fibre. On the other hand, Bouna Sarr is back in training and an alternative for the squad in Bielefeld.
After the frustration in the top flight, his team now has “a clear mission”, said Nagelsmann, already looking ahead to the “match ball game” against Borussia Dortmund on 23 April: “We have to win both games to clinch the championship. Then we will have done the part that we absolutely have to do. We have to deliver, we keep getting our money.”
