Six-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez will return after his serious crash at this weekend’s Austin Grand Prix.

This was announced by the Honda factory team on Wednesday. The Spaniard had suffered from double vision for the second time after his accident. The discomfort came in the wake of a violent crash in the warm-up before the Indonesian Grand Prix.

Doctors cleared Marquez to “resume competition”, a press release said. “I’m very happy to be back, it’s great to be back especially at one of my favourite tracks,” Marquez is quoted as saying. He is currently 15th in the world championship standings.

Stefan Bradl had stepped in for Marquez at short notice at the Argentine Grand Prix, where he finished 19th.
