Hansi Flick has been Germany’s national coach since summer 2021. The title collector came to the DFB from FC Bayern as Joachim Löw’s successor. But what do the fans think of the new coach?
Hansi Flick and the national team said goodbye to the international break with a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands. A small blemish on Flick’s statistics as national coach, which are still respectable: With eight wins from nine games and only two goals conceded, the national coach has made a good start. The 57-year-old has also endeared himself to the fans.
Flick knows how to inspire the DFB’s supporters more than predecessor Joachim Löw. The question was: “Do you enjoy the national football team more again since Hansi Flick took over the national coaching post from Joachim Löw?”
The result: around two thirds (65 per cent) of German football fans agreed, answering the question either with “Yes, definitely” (39 per cent) or “Rather yes” (26 per cent). 19 per cent were undecided. Only 16 per cent answered the question in the negative. Flick may yet be able to convince them at the World Cup in Qatar.
